As a Talent Producer for Mark Burnett Productions in Los Angeles, Peter Cohen is responsible for the national talent search and evaluating and delivering world-class music talent for the hit NBC TV series The Voice. He has served as Talent Producer, overseeing international talent searches for a string of successful TV series including Rockstar:INXS (CBS), Rockstar:Supernova (CBS), The Road To Stardom with Missy Elliott (UPN), and Star Search (CBS). After starting out as a DJ in Massachusetts at the influential college radio station WMUA-FM, Peter began at Epic Records in LA where worked as an Artist Development and A&R representative for the label. He then joined the LA label/management company No Name Worldwide as an artist manager and A&R rep (Lit, Hatebreed, Kenna). He went on to form the management/consulting company Special Teams Music, managing major label artists Mozella (Warner Bros), Natalia Killz (Interscope), writer/producer Kevin Cadogan (Third Eye Blind) and as an A&R consultant and talent scout for labels Mercury, Interscope, and ADA. From 2008-2011 Peter served as Director of Music Development for the Australian Government where he developed strategies to raise the profile of Aussie music and facilitate deals for Aussie music companies and artists in the US market including The Temper Trap (Glassnote), Sick Puppies (Capitol), Empire of the Sun (Astralwerks), and Ry Cumming (Jive).
